The Community Issues sub-group was set up to focus on issues around tackling neighbour nuisance, community safety and anti-social behaviour - looking at prevention and solutions.  It looks at possible partnerships with other organisations to address issues.  The group also focuses on issues around regeneration.

The group reports to the Tenants' Forum

Recently the Sub-Group:

• approved the Protection from Abuse Policy and Domestic Violence Policy.
• Reviewed the Equality and Diversity Policy

4 -6 members of the group carried out extensive visits and surveyed estates to identify estates issues

• Feedback from the inspections helped the group to select areas for investment in the Community Action Plans
•  Works were carried out at the Acreage sheltered housing scheme

The Community Issues Group assessed and approved 5 estate improvement applications. These improvements include

•  Security
•  Lighting
•  Fencing/gates
•  And extensions to a patio area at a sheltered scheme

Since improvements have been made, no anti-social behaviour or security issues have been reported.
