Typical Energy Performance barchart

Since October 2008, Soha has been required by law to provide an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) to all tenants moving into their new Soha homes.

An EPC shows the official energy rating of a building on a scale from A-G (where A is the most efficient and G is the least efficient). You may have seen similar energy ratings when you have bought a new fridge or washing machine.

Soha has recently carried out a grant funded pilot scheme which surveyed over 1,100 homes. The pilot showed that the average rating for Soha homes is currently “Band C”. This is good and reflects the ongoing improvements that we are carrying out as part of our planned maintenance programme. Improvements to insulation, heating systems and replacement windows have all helped to improve the energy efficiency rating of our homes and has significantly reduced the level of Co2 emitted, which is great for the environment!

We are committed to improving the energy efficiency of our homes. Future improvements, such as updating the heating controls and providing double glazing where there is none, will be put into effect shortly.

Residents who kindly took part in the pilot should now have received their certificates.
