Who is responsible for repairs?
Your responsibilties
You are responsible for maintaining anything inside your flat and anything that only serves your flat, including:
  • the surface of the floors in the flat above the floor joists or other supporting floor structure
  • the ceiling of your flat up to, but not including, the joists or other supporting floor structure or beams which the ceiling is attached to
  • the surfaces of all walls, windows and doors inside your flat, and your front door and the doorframe
  • all pipes, cables, and so on that serve only your flat
  • the central heating system
Our responsibilities
Soha is responsible for repairing the structure and exterior of the building. This includes:
  • the load bearing elements of the building
  • roof
  • foundations
  • shared drains
  • sewers (unless they have been adopted)
  • communal TV aerial equipment 
  • communal areas this includes the boundary fence around the block but not the individual garden fences
