How and when to pay your rent

When should you pay your rent?
Your tenancy agreement states that you must pay your rent weekly in advance.  It is therefore due on the Monday of each week, except the rent-free weeks.  If you are on a monthly tenancy or pay by Direct Debit your agreement will show your rent as a monthly amount that is paid in 12 equal instalments on the 1st working day of each month.

Rent free weeks
As tenants like and are used to having some rent-free weeks, Soha collects rent over 48 weeks in a normal year.  The year runs

from:       the 1st Monday in April
to:           the last Sunday in March or the 1st Sunday in April the following year.

This means there are 4 rent-free weeks each year.  Two weeks are in December around Christmas and two weeks are at the end of March.

In 2005/06 your rent-free weeks are:

Week No. Week starting on Week No. Week starting on
39 Monday 26 December 2005 51 Monday 20 March 2006
40 Monday 2 January 2006 52 Monday 27 March 2006

Week No. Week starting on Week No. Week starting on
