Explaining the Tenancy Agreement

Starting a new tenancy
Before moving into your home, you will be asked to sign a tenancy agreement. Your Housing Officer will explain the tenancy agreement and details of your new tenancy.  The  tenancy agreement is a legal contract between you and Soha.  It sets out the terms and conditions that both of us must keep to.  It is an important document, so you should read it carefully and keep it in a safe place.

We will arrange to visit you a few weeks after you have moved in, to check how you are settling in.

What is security of tenure and an assured tenant ?
The tenancy agreement between you and us gives you 'security of tenure'. This means you are an assured tenant. Your home can only be taken away if you break the terms and conditions of the tenancy. Security of tenure also gives you the right to exchange, the right to be consulted and the right to carry out out improvements and alterations.
