Ending Your Tenancy

Ending your tenancy
If you want to end your tenancy you must :
  • Give us four weeks notice (normally ending on a Sunday)
  • Pay any outstanding rent
  • Return all the keys on a date agreed with your Housing Officer (normally before 12 noon on the Monday after your tenancy ends)
  • Remove all furniture and possessions and make sure the property is in good condition

For joint tenancies (in more than one name), either of the named tenants can give notice to end the tenancy, in which case the tenancy will end for both named tenants.

To end your tenancy phone Customer Services on 01235 515900, email housing@soha.co.uk or write to us.

You need to tell us:

  • Your name and address
  • The date you are leaving (allowing 4 full weeks for the notice period)
  • A forwarding address

When we have received a request from you we will write to you and arrange for a Technical Officer to visit you before you move out.
