We're committed to equality and diversity.
Our ambition is to understand and respond as effectively as we can to the needs and aspirations of all our residents, staff and stakeholders, so that nobody is disadvantaged in the way we provide homes, services or in the way we work. Our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) strategy recognises all nine protected characteristics referred to in the Equality Act 2010 - age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex and sexual orientation. The strategy sets out how we will respond to inequality and adopt inclusive approaches which take into account people's individual needs.
Everybody at Soha has a responsibility to make sure that the committments in our strategy are put into practice – whenever we’re working with residents, local groups, contractors, consultants and suppliers. We expect their support and co-operation to make sure we’re fair and reasonable at all times.
How we identify and consider the impact of our activities
We carry out equality impact assessments (EIAs) on our policies, services and strategies – looking at their potential impact on our residents. These assessments help our staff deliver excellent customer service to our residents and to think carefully about the impact of our work on our residents.
If you would like to see our current EIAs please contact us.
