Soha Housing has been shortlisted in the category "Best Older Persons' Landlord" in the 2019 UK Housing Awards.
11 finalists were selected from across Britain. Soha's co-finalists range in size from just over a thousand properties to a quarter of a million and from specialist older people's providers to those offering homes across all needs groups. Soha, based in Didcot but serving South Oxfordshire and adjacent districts, has over 6,600 homes of which more than 1200 are for retirement or independent living. These may be flats and bungalows, independent living schemes or Extra Care provision. Some are for shared ownership - part rent, part buy. They are managed by the Independent Living team, some of whom are pictured above. Each housing option is detailed here.
The next step in the UK Housing Award procedure is for Soha to make a pitch to the industry judges in March. The Best Older Persons' Landlord winner will be announced on 1 May at a ceremony in London.
