Shifting power to communities

Jackie Logan Westminster Insight
Picture of Jackie with the quote that we want people to shape their own priorities and inviting them to contact her on ri@soha.co.uk

Soha Resident Engagement and Communities Manager, Jackie Logan, today spoke at Westminster Insight – Improving Tenant Engagement Digital Conference.

Her brief was to talk about how Soha has been tackling loneliness and reaching out to create a sense of community. She covered Soha’s experiences in delivering the resident-led loneliness project and how residents are now at work on the initiative in their communities.

Jackie said, "it's important to us, as a mutual housing association, that we shift power to our communities. We want people to define their own priorities – rather than work to any agenda we might have – and to work together to find sustainable solutions. Our members have made significant steps towards achieving this in their communities. We're grateful for such a dedicated team of Community Connectors.

Anyone interested in exploring more than the experiences I had time to describe is very welcome to contact me at ri@soha.co.uk.”
