The Living Wage Foundation has accredited Soha Housing as a Living Wage Employer.
This commitment will see everyone working at the Didcot-based housing association, regardless of whether they are direct employees or third-party contracted staff, receive a minimum hourly wage of £8.75. This is significantly higher than the statutory minimum for over 25s of £7.50 per hour introduced in April 2017.
The Living Wage is an hourly rate set independently and updated annually, calculated according to the real costs of living.
Katie Legg, HR Manager at Soha Housing, commented: “Going for the Living Wage accreditation is all about making a public commitment to fair pay. We regard paying it as one of the marks of being a responsible employer. In our last (annual) survey of staff 94% said they are proud to work at Soha.”
