Soha celebrates World Book Night with free books

Author Sarah Wilson sits with residents of Soha Housing's Petypher House to conduct a reading for World Book Night

Soha Housing staff went on a book tour of Oxfordshire last week, handing out free novels with an author who happens to be a Soha resident.

Publishers Mills and Boon provided copies of the book “The Secret Marriage Pact” for the housing association’s independent living scheme residents to celebrate World Book Night. Joining the tour was Cholsey author Sarah Wilson (on the right in the picture), who treated them to a reading from her own work. Sarah said, “I love encouraging people to get into books and share their ‘finds’. We had some great discussions about what makes a good read.”

Sarah’s first full novel, “Out there”, described as “a tale of love, loss, torture and tattoos”, is out for consideration by publishers at the moment. She says, “I was in pretty desperate straits once, but the roof I now have over my head was key to my being able to follow my dream to take a creative writing degree as a mature student and become a novelist.”
