South Oxon's first Extra Care scheme celebrates five years

Residents of Windmill Place in Thame, South Oxfordshire's first Extra Care facility, celebrated its fifth birthday on Tuesday 24 January. The wheelchair-accessible apartments give occupants their own front door but access to round the clock onsite care staff from the Order of St John Care Trust and facilities such as a hobby and IT room, and visiting hairdresser.

The Soha Housing scheme has 36 flats, of which ten are for shared ownership, the rest being for social rent. The celebration cake was cut by 100 year old Mrs Irene Hotson and Soha’s Chief Executive, Richard Peacock.
