We have a number of sheltered housing schemes in towns and villages across our area.
Sheltered schemes offer independent living in a smaller, easier-to-manage home – with the companionship of other older people living close by.
Many schemes have a communal lounge, laundry room, and guest room for your family or friends. You can socialise with other residents and get involved as much or as little as you like.
There’s also the peace of mind of knowing that a scheme manager is available if you need help or advice. We hold regular ‘scheme surgeries’ too – where residents get together and discuss any issues or concerns with their scheme manager.

If you’re a Soha resident living in sheltered accommodation and you want to report a repair, pay your rent, or need help or advice about your home or your tenancy, please go to our 'resident services' section.
Extra care housing
As you get older you may find you need help with mobility or just day-to-day tasks, but want to stay in your own home for as long as you can.
This is where extra care housing can help. With your own front door and onsite care staff, you can keep your independence, but live in a safe, secure and supportive place.
Our extra care buildings are purpose-built, wheelchair accessible and open to individuals and couples. There’s a great community spirit too – with activities ranging from cooking and singing to gardening.
Most of our extra care flats are for renting, but there are a small number available to buy on a part-rent/part-buy basis.
