We want to keep your home in good condition.
As well as running a repairs service, we invest approx. £6 million each year carrying out improvements and updates to your homes. We call this planned works or planned maintenance.
You’ve told us that replacement bathrooms, kitchens, central heating systems, and doors/windows are your priorities – so this is what we’re working on over the next few years.
As part of our planned works programme we also carry out annual gas safety checks and regular electrical circuit tests.
It’s more cost-effective for us to carry out planned works on an area-by-area basis, rather than on individual properties. This is why we’ve produced a five-year home improvement plan for each area. The plan tells you what work is planned for your home and when it’s likely to happen.
We’ll always contact you before we begin any planned works and where possible give you choices on design and materials.
If we need access to your home we’ll always agree a convenient time with you.
What can I expect from Soha?
The government has set a basic standard for all landlords for the quality of the homes they provide. Basically a ‘decent home’ is one that is wind and water tight, warm and has modern facilities.
But at Soha we want to go above and beyond a decent home standard. So we’ve developed a higher standard called the Decent Homes Plus.
